I really hate mosquitos. They are one of the most annoying pests around. Worse is their bite. The flowtron electronic bug zappers come in different models and size. In general, I recommend the flowtron electronic bug zapper 1 acre as it is the most suitable model for a family.  The >1.5 acre is a bit too expensive for family use and the 0.5 acre is too limited for killing all the pests and mosquitoes. Read on as I discuss and review more about this particular model of bug zapper.

This flowtron bug zapper does its job admirable well. This zapper is designed to let bugs fly in easily, and it has vertical electrodes that zap bugs. Some of the other models in the markets have too wide a hole that allows the bugs to escape. Not this baby. It kills them quite effectively. The Stinger bug zapper b8080 pest repeller is one of Stinger’s recent brands. I understand the market are generally quite negative about Stinger although I don’t understand why. I have used it for a couple of weeks and so far it has been ok. For fair comparison, I am going to get the Flatron bug zapper and begin experimenting to see which perform better. I think that is the only way to convince myself which brand is better at repelling pests. That is how I am. I need to test it to see which one performs better. I don’t trust reviews in general, although I am writing one myself. The ironic.

Back to the the b8o8o model. It functions liek other bug zappers. It uses the light as well as the smell to attract insects and hopefully lure them to their doom via electrocuting them. The performance of the device comes really to 2 things. How well it attracts the pests and how capable is the zapping capability.

In terms of the former, I think the stinger bug zapper is as good as any brands in the market. The dual use of both light and smell is great as it has 2 traps instead of one to lure the insects. The problem most have is with its ability to capture the insects and this boils down to the size of the wiring used. If the gaps in the wire are too large, then the insects can actually fly in towards the light without being zapped. So far, my model is ok but others have complaint that their gaps are too wide and therefore unable to zap any thing. I find this strange.  The difference could be down to the model. Maybe Stinger have listen to the complaints and have the gaps a bit smaller. Who knows but mine is definitely performing.

One tip to all bug zappers owners. It is good to replace your bulbs once a year at least so that they can remain their effectiveness in the ultraviolet range. Our eyes can’t see ultraviolet and so we gauge the performance of the bug zapper by its normal light. Unfortuantly, what attracts the insect is the ultraviolet light and not the normal light. Since we can’t see it, it is good practice to just change it annually so that the bug zapper works ok.

There are 2 types of light bulbs  bug zappers in general: white and black. This review is about the Stinger ultra bug zapper black light bulb.  The main difference is the type of color bulbs that were used. This of course has the effect of killing different types of bulbs. Certain insects like mosquitos oare attracted by black light while other are attracted by white light. So, depending on the kind of pests that you are trying to kill, you have to decide on which is the model that is suitable for you.

For those who don’t how they work, here is a quick recap so that you can be on your way to killing those pests. I agree that they are quite the life irriant. Before I start using them, whenever I go to the garden, I will be greeted by mosquitos, flies, moths etc. I Now, with the bug zapper, I just turn it on and hear the sound zap zap zap while I enjoy my garden view.

Back to the mechanics of how this bug zappers works.  It actually uses two methods of killing pests. There is the  ultraviolet light from a 40-watt black light bulb. This black light is like a magnet for mosquitoes. As a result, the company claimed that it can capture 40% more insects compared to ultraviolet white bulb versions. Actually,  I have seen this difference. I own both types of colored bulb and frankly, they are equally good.  The second method that the stinger ultra bug zapper uses to kill pests is the integrated cartridge designed for the NOsquito Octenol Lure. This thing works by giving out a scent similar to a large mammal. Now, this maybe the real reason why this is better than the other bug zapper I owned. I think the smell really attracts these buggers and then send them to their zoom by zapping them. What fun!

Here is a bit more information on this model in case you need. There is a sensor that can help to detect when is night time. You can use this to turn the zapper off during the day when there are less mosquitos around to kill. This will help you save a bit of electric bills. In addition, there is an indication button to alert you of when the zapper is working.

The sting ultra bug zapper is a mosquito killer. Let me tell you my little experiment and you can see fors self how effective it can be.

My little experiment involves two models in addition to the Stinger Ultra Bug Zapper.  Actually, I beg the models from all my friends and familties. It is not we lack the money, but better to save some costs. In the end, I just grab whatever I can.

The experiment involves putting the three bug zappers at my patio area and see how many mosquito had died by  the other day.  I choose at night as it was the most conducive for a bug zaper to work with.  By next morning, the stinger ultra bug zapper is overflowing with mosquitoes. it really shows how ppowerful this site is.
